No other screws have these arrows next to them. I mean, they literally do and just for the rear cover's removal. All the screws that have to be removed literally have arrows etched into the casing next to them. Unless they look at it as an adventure and decide to tackle it themselves.Īnyway, look at the bottom of your HDX, the optical drive bay(with optical drive removed - it's just 1 screw of the 3) and in the battery bay. For everyone else, it's just a potentiality. The only people who could enjoy that benefit are the tech savvy DIYers (or anyone who knows one). Think of it this way imagine if we figured out a way to get a different GPU into the HDX. Rare to find a service place that will do a proper job of it considering how unique the HDX is. If their GPU dies now and they can't disassemble it to replace it or bake it, they will throw their HDX out or sell it for parts. Especially if they aren't moderately tech savvy DIYers.
Moreover, anyone who still has it and uses it after all this time and hasn't maintained it, it's sort of too late to start now. Between the service manual and the disassembly videos, I don't think anyone will overcome their psychological fear of disassembling the HDX with yet one more video.
